Your First Visit to LAPC

Walking into a new church can feel a bit like stepping into a different world. At Lighthouse Apostolic Pentecostal Church, we want you to feel right at home from the moment you pull into the parking lot. If you’re wondering what a typical service looks like, here is a roadmap of the powerful, Spirit-filled experience awaiting you.

A Warm Welcome

The moment you reach our doors, a smiling greeter will be there to welcome you with a smile. Whether you need directions to the restrooms, information about childcare, or just have a general question about the service, our greeters are happy to help. You aren’t just a visitor to us; you’re an honored guest.

The Atmosphere of Prayer

As you enter the sanctuary, you may notice the lights are dimmed. You will likely hear the sound of many voices praying at once. This is our Prayer Service.

We believe in taking time before the main service to lay aside the weights of the week and focus on Jesus. It’s a time of repentance and intercession for our families and our community. During this time, you might hear:

  • People praying loudly or crying out to God.

  • Individuals speaking in other tongues.

Is this Biblical? Absolutely. The Bible tells us that speaking in tongues is a gift from God and a sign of the Holy Spirit’s presence.

  • “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” — Acts 2:4

  • “For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.” — Acts 10:46

Dynamic Worship

Following prayer, the lights will come up, and a minister will officially begin the service. At LAPC, we are excited about Jesus, and we don't mind showing it!

As the Praise Team begins to lead us, many people will move toward the front to worship together. You are more than welcome to join them at the front or stay right where you are—there is no pressure at all. You will see a variety of expressions of praise, including:

  • Raised hands and clapping.

  • Leaping for joy or dancing before the Lord.

  • "Running the aisles" or worshiping under the influence of the Holy Ghost.

The Word and the Move of the Spirit

After worship, we may transition into a time of testimonies (sharing what God has done) and the giving of tithes and offerings. Then, the minister will bring a message as God has directed him.

Everything we do is fluid. We believe in following the lead of the Holy Ghost rather than a strict script. This means:

  1. The order of service might change.

  2. The message might lead directly into an altar call, where anyone is invited to come forward to seek God, pray for healing, or receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  3. The service ends when we feel the Lord has finished His work for that day.

Come As You Are

At any point during the service, feel free to ask a neighbor a question or jump right into the worship. Our goal is for you to leave LAPC feeling comfortable, moved, and changed. We can’t wait to see you at LAPC!
